A nice journal
As an Egyptology student I get sent email about all manner of academic conferences and symposiums, but I was happy today to receive an invitation to a symposium called "Politeness in Ancient Societies" that's being organised by the "Journal for Politeness Research". I can't explain why, but I'm just happy to discover that there is such a journal. It must be a very nice, polite one, with no unseemly bickering on its letters page.

I must look on JSTOR (the academic journals repository I have access to via my university) and see if it's available there.
