I was reading

on my desktop computer last evening just before sunset, with my security camera system displayed on the second monitor. I glanced over and saw someone trespassing in my carport.

Alarmed, I jumped up and ran out the front door into the carport. I found I teen aged boy with his head in my extra refrigerator and an unopened soft drink in his hand.
I yelled "What are you doing in my refrigerator?" and the discussion deteriorated from there.
He replied "I just wanted a drink."
Of all the brilliant things I could have said, I replied "Give that back, and get out of here!"
Some of things I could have said were "I have you on video and If I see you here again I'll send it to the police." or "If you want a drink, had you asked I'd have given you one." or "Buy your own." or "I know where you live". But did I think of any of those? Of course not, I just said "Give that back, and get out of here!"
In retrospect,

I think he was probably looking for beer, but since no one in my household drinks alcohol, we don't have any.

And if we did we certainly wouldn't keep it in an unlocked refrigerator that's outside.
Soooo. I put a lock on the refer, with the key hanging on a peg just inside the front door. What a PITA!
