For people who have bought one, fine. If you're enjoying it I'm glad. If I'm right about this problem in the worse case you should get a couple of years use out of it at least. If I'm wrong you'll get a lot more. If two years for $400 is worthwhile to you then you don't really have anything to worry about. I'm happy with my Voyage and my Paperwhite so I'm not going to spend that much on the latest model until I know more.
I think it's kind of silly to get upset about this or to get upset about someone getting upset about it. It's a possible problem down the road. That's all. If I had one I'd want to be aware of it.

And that is fine, you want to think about it some more. But in order to know for sure if there might possibly be problems 2 years down the road, that is a mighty long wait. There might be a new device by then.
My Oasis didn't cost $400, but then I am in the US and don't need 3G. I actually didn't pay anything at all as I used giftcards I earn with surveys.

But then I buy most of my kindles with such gift cards and points I earn for paying bills that turn into gift cards. Otherwise I probably would have continued using the Voyage until I had saved up enough to finally buy the Oasis.
Anything happening to the Oasis package in the next year will be covered by Amazon. I don't worry, they have the best customer service.
