I would suggest what Harry suggested, but you should nevertheless be careful about what fiction you choose to read.

Non-fiction may be your safest bet to read regarding fact-checking accuracy, since fiction writers often get their facts wrong, and often never realize that something is wrong.

Stephen King is notorious for creating a candy bar in the original edition of "The Stand," when IN FACT, THIS CANDY BAR DID NOT EXIST AT THE TIME OF THE NOVEL'S PUBLICATION! This is the real horror (pun intended) in reading horror fiction.
