I received a forum update via e-mail and read the latest news of this thread. I'll add my own too with regard to the thread subject.

I'm indeed using my Galaxy S3 as a reading device and getting along pretty well with it. Few days ago I started using the PocketBook Android application and loaded into it a library lent book and a novel purchased from the Kobo Store, both of them DRMed. They are read perfectly and the app has plenty of nice, very useful and well-balanced features; I won't speak of the dictionary integration beside the fact that it is very easy and efficient to share words to external dictionary apps.

I think I'm still not finding a flaw on such a solution. The screen type and the battery duration could only be moderately nasty problems if I were to read for very long hours. Still of the idea of waiting for the release of newer e-reading devices, especially PocketBook.
