If I like the reader's voice or particularly enjoy the writing, I listen at normal speed; otherwise, I increase it a bit to 1.2 or so. If I find myself frustrated with a book and just hoping to get through it, I might increase it up to 1.5 or 1.6 but probably never faster than that. Smart AudioBook goes up to 2.5, which is far faster than I'd ever need.
