Device: Kindle Paperwhite (6th gen kindle)
Bricked and no usb storage

Hey

Got a 6th gen kindle (which i presume is PW2) stock no modifications what so ever. It's just 18 months so no replacement (am under a 1 year limited warranty)

My problem is that is never get's past the kindle logo boot screen. (You know the one with the person sitting under a tree). After a complete discharge i can make it fully recharge. When i try a 40 sec reset, the screen lights up, and stays on until discharged.

When i plug it into a windows pc, it correctly sees it as a usb disc, hardware says its Kindle internal storage, but there are no partition or filesystem on that disk.

I'm thinking the filesystem is gone, how can i verify this? and if it is the case, how do i restore it?

Kubrick doesn't work (said so, but had to try) and i haven't been able to find any step by step instructions to any of the other methods, ie. fastboot etc. from a stock device.

I am in-experienced in reading from the serial debug interface, ie what tools do need, both software and hardware. I am thinking that the debug interface might shed some light as to how far along the process it actually is when it stalls.

Any help is appreciated
