Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

It's a post apocalypse novel. Sort of.
Pretty good so far.

Before that:
Star Dragon - good hard SF (and free) - 8/10
Hunt for a star dwelling creature...

Eater - mediocre hard SF - 5/10
A mysterious object enters the solar system...
