Upgrade the version of calibre you are running. Support for the Kobo Aura was added in version 2.1.2 of the plugins. That was done in September 2013, which was before calibre 2.0 came out. I recommend updating to the current version of calibre. If you can't for some reason (running XP or one of the other older OSes) then upgrade to at least version 1.48.
