I have the exact same problem. I wanted to change the code view font into something else (specifically MonacoB) but it does not appear on the list. Fonts seemed to be a hit-or-miss thing, as Droids Sans Mono appears on my list but not Source Code or Liberation Sans Mono.

I've used this trick as a workaround and it works, up to a point. If you access the preferences panel for any reason though, whether the General tab or Plug-ins Manager, the code view font reverts back to the default Courier New and you have to set it again.
