Upon further investigation I saw that the option to automatically set the last used printer as default printer was switched on. I switched it off and made sure my regular printer is set as default.

It's a great idea to change the name, but that seems to not be possible in Windows 10 . My sister's printer has yet to appear on my printer list again, though I have no doubt it will, at some point.
