Deleting saved searches

I have a very trivial problem, but it's bugging me, and I'd love some help.

While attempting to rename a saved search, I did something dumb. Not sure what or how.

First, I saved a search for: author:"Unknown"

Then, because I am A Old Person who wanted a tidier-looking name in the "Saved Searches" drop-down box, I decided to rename the search: "Author unknown".

I pursued my mission via the two green boxes at the end of the search bar:

The rest is a blur, except that now I've got a 100% useless saved search that looks like this:

Am now trying to delete this search. Here's what I'm doing, and where I'm stuck:
  • Via the green box with the "plus" sign, I choose "Manage saved searches".
  • The "Saved Search Editor" pops up.
  • From the Editor's "Saved Search" drop-down box, I choose the saved search I'd like to delete:

In the blank space underneath the search title, I've tried inserting legit search syntax (author:"Unknown") and clicking "OK." I've also tried leaving the blank space blank.

But no matter what I do, when I go back to the drop-down menu and choose "Delete saved search".......

........I get an error message:

"No search is selected", it says. What does "selected" mean? I've tried clicking the saved search, highlighting the saved search, plying the saved search with sex and cash, and yelling "Saved Search for President!" But I can't get past the error message, and can't delete the search.

I'd be grateful for any help. Many thanks.

Brooks
