I hope you succeeded in upgrading the firmware in the meantime. Yet, going back to the main problem you had, "the screen flashes every time when turning page which is really annoying," strangely, that is exactly the problem I have after upgrading to 3.4.2 "manually." (by first downloading the bin file to the computer... after a factory reset and all...)

I have no idea why the K3 screen started to flash at every page turn now. The method in shamanNS's link seems interesting but I too tend to think that there was a simpler way...
