I know what you mean, the Inkpad doesn't fit most pockets. So I carry it in a softbag and handle it with a bit of care. I don't have it on my every day though.

The good part is that Inkpad is high res and has a large screen, so it reads like a hardcover instead of a pocket edition. Actually, I find it easier to hold than a 6 inch reader, it has a bit more body to it. Best is that there's more text on each page which makes reading that bit more relaxed. I don't know why exactly, perhaps I keep a better overview of the text, not having to turn the page so often. Again much like hardcover vs pocket edition.

CR3 somehow saves the battery, as power drains much slower than the stock reader. It lasts 4 weeks on a single charge, sometimes up to 6.

Maybe in the near future, there will be more flexible screens and having a larger screen on you wouldn't be a problem when twisting/cracking screens is a worry of the past.
