I carry my cybook around most of the time, reading it on the train traveling to work. I have noticed in the cold weather of the last few months that wile standing on the platform waiting for my train the screen refresh of the book reader slows to a crawl. That's when it is about -2 C, it soon speeds up when I get on the train.
I did not not notice any effect on the battery, though now I think about it I am having to charge the book reader more often.
