Thank you - I stand corrected.

I still maintain, though, that it's without doubt the case that the average MR member reads an awful lot more than the average member of the general population. For example, Waterstones (by far the largest B&M bookseller in the UK) class as a "heavy reader" anyone who buys more than 6 books a year. We have many people on MR who buy (and read) double that number every month!
