My kobo glo reset itself

Today when I picked up my kobo glo reader I noticed it said something strange instead of the cover of the book I was reading. It said battery was too low. I didn't think it was important at first, but when I connected it to my computer a load menu appeared, my kobo seemed to be reset I logged in again and loaded my library and all, but my statistics are lost, my read book count was back to zero even when I marked as read the books I already read the count was still zero. My achievements are also lost also the non-kobo epubs I added myself, and the book I was reading (the count of montecristo) was from chapter 58 back to 55.
I've tried to leave it as it used to be but I am worried? Why do you think it happened? Is it a known issue? Does something trigger it so I can avoid doing it in the future?
Thanks in advance.
