Converting Google Translate Html -> Epub Can Make Calibre Go Haywire

In Calibre 2.52.0, on OS X, converting Google translate html files to epub files can cause Calibre to try to open endless browser tabs, or, if it isn't allowed to open browser tabs, to send endless error messages.

I was unable to force-quit any of the three times this happened [including one test]. I had to shut down and restart the computer.

I know Google translate html files are a total mess, and a special fix for these files might be too much. I can convert some of the smaller ones to text using another application.

So far, I've found Calibre handles most other conversions, and helps edit metadata, better than any other software I've tried.
