moving Kindle 3 native apps to another kindle?

Hello, I have a Kindle 3/Kindle Keyboard that I got recently that has a bit of a dodgy keyboard. That doesn't affect reading for ebooks, but it makes me hesitant to purchase online apps which still exist, such as http://www.amazon.com/www.amazon.com/dp/B004W4AGUY - I havent yet played around with the amazon store, but i'm assuming there's a way to move content from an older kindle to a new kindle. At least books. I'm not sure if that counts with apps. And not even sure if all older apps work on all newer kindles for that matter (there are complaints for that very game not working on the HDX). Plus with the recent firmware update requirements I wonder if at some point it wont even be possible to do it through amazon.

My understanding is that ebooks are DRM'ed with something unbreakable locking them to one amazon kindle. But is that also the case with software?
