I think this is the point, totally. I'm totally with you on this. I see the gradient on my Voyage and it bothers me. It seems some people are arguing whether it exists or not even when others have taken photos to prove it does. And it bothers me people say photos show something that isn't there. If you can photograph it, it exists. If you can't see it when you use it, that's fantastic and I am totally envious.

For me, I just want to know if someone can offer evidence this isn't another manufacturing issue that will never be avoided, like the Voyage. Sounds like it will.

For my 2 cents, the waterproof nook glowlight plus has the most even lighting and I really wish Amazon could replicate that in their ereaders. Seems they don't think it's an issue.
