The color shift from one side to the other is quite believable considering all the LED's are on one side. Having half on each side would probably minimize or eliminate the problem but also make the device thicker. I am personally happy with the choice. I can see a slight difference in color from thick side to thin side when I look for it. Not so much with actual reading. And the device is definitely more comfortable to hold from either side when reading. So far battery life seems more than the Voyage. But I read at 15 or above and four or five hours a day so months of battery is ridiculous. It is misleading or, to be nice, good marketing to estimate reading time at a level or 10 and only 30 minutes a day.
