Importing the My Library list into calibre

With the gnashing of teeth about what is and isn't in the My Library list, I realised an export would be useful (Brodie: you can take that as a hint). As there isn't one, the quickest way to do it I could think of is using the Import List plugin in calibre. With this, and the attached files, you can save the My Library page and import the list of books to calibre. This will attempt to match the books in the list to books in the calibre library.

While the Import List plugin can read a web page and parse it for a list of books, it does not support sites that need authentication. But, it can read a saved page. So, to use this, you need to visit each page in the library and save the page.

There are two files attached:
  • KoboMyLibrary-NoDate.zip imports the list without the "Date added".
  • KoboMyLibrary-PublishedDate.zip imports the list and puts the "Date added" in the published date field. This is the only date field I could use that I know is common to all installations. You can modify this to put it into another date column or just a text column

To use them, import the whichever of the files you want to use into the settings of the plugin. Then you need to select and edit it and specify the saved file to import the books from. For more details on how to use this, see the Import List plugins thread.
