I've heard nothing but good things about the Nexus 7, particularly the 2013 model.

I never read on my phone. Novels on my Kobo (sometimes gaming pdfs), everything else on my tablets. (Well, tablet. gave away the busted Asus FHD 10 and haven't bought its replacement yet.)
