Which is essentially the same error i get when I try to send an ebook.
I'm fairly certain the problem is within calibre because I can ping imap.gmail.com fine from my terminal and even connect to it via telnet.

I'm using the most recent version of calibre and Mac OS X 10.8.5.

I tried searching for other posts, but only found this with no solution:

Did you allow calibre.exe in your firewall
