I looked into that once, but found out that it would actually require waiting an extra day or so beyond the expected delivery time, since a worker must be retasked from his normal job (at UPS's convenience) to go and physically locate the package and then carry it an office where it will be held for customer pickup. Have to imagine that kind of thing really tears into the efficiency of their operation, so they tend to discourage it. Granted that was years ago
