I read, sometime back, about the guy who was in charge of raising the submarine and who wrote this book, Edward Ellsberg. He was masterful at what he did best--the incredibly complex and difficult task of raising sunken ships. His star perhaps shone brightest in World War II, after the publication of this book (in 1929), when he did the crucial work of re-floating many, many other ships for the U.S. military.
Great find! This is my type of non-fiction - history, especially military history.
