Two weeks ago I bought a Onyx Boox M96. My purpose is same with eturgeon, using it as a display when I coding.

But as my experience with my 6 inch Nook Simple Touch, simply "as a display" is not a good idea. The mouse pointer is slow and slow...

But why you need mouse, you have a Touch Screen! So the good idea is not simply mirror your desktop, instead of Remote Access your desktop.

I use a RDP client connected to my Win10, both the client and Win10 has the full support of touch screen, so I can use my M96 as a touch enabled Win10 tablet!

I have three parts of video for this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dEWN59WB2c
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFBluWW7do8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glmTifBRkjE

In video you will found the touch access is smooth and easy-to-use. Then connected a bluetooth keyboard, and you can really coding & debugging with your touch enabled e-ink Win10!

PS: I'm waiting for Onyx Boox Max, it's also 13.3 inch. However, neither DaSung nor Boox Max are public sale now (Boox Max may sale in May). But someone has unopened DaSung saled on a second-hand store.

PS 2: A2 refresh mode use 1 bit grey depth. DaSung has an A5 mode, it's also 1 bit grey depth, but bind 4 pixel as one. so the resolution is declined to 800x600 but it has 5 grey depth (0 black px to 4 black).

On kernel changed Nook Simple Touch, there is another 1 bit refresh mode called FastMode. It likes DaSung's A5 mode, but use dynamic sparse or dense points to draw your images. It's quickly with acceptable image quality. Someone watchs video with the mode! Onyx ROM version 1.7.4 supported the mode, with a little delay when you hand-write.
