The Sony runs a version of Digital Editions, so it reads Secure Adobe PDF and ePubs like the Desktop Digital Editions. However, Digital Editions does not convert other ebook formats to ePub or PDF.

Use Calibre (which has its own Forum) to format shift DRM-free ebooks for the Sony. The sticking point here is "DRM-free", since most ebooks you buy have DRM (encryption). It is possible to strip the DRM from MOBI and LIT (MS Reader) and eReader ebooks, but this is generally thought to be illegal in many jurisdictions - although it is hard to see who is hurt by stripping DRM from ebooks you own for personal use.
