Seems a lot of folks change the book title itself to display the series. I have always changed everything via Calibre to address my own ridiculously OCD catagories. Generally, I'll have something like "Storm Front" by Jim Butcher in Calibre as its own title, the author, Tag as "Fiction- Paranormal" and series as "The Dresden Files [1].
Generally I will try to fit a new book into an existing Tag, but if it doesn't I create a new one, following the same format, ie. Fiction- [New Genre].
It was a terrrible amount of effort a long time ago initially, but now it's second nature as I add new books in.
