I think you will find there are always outliers in every population.
Just please stay away from the opt-in Politics and Religion subforum
-- the stuff quarantined in there ranges from convivial to chillingly polite to aggressively hostile
all the time.
(Also the technical-minded Developer's Corner can get very sharp with perceived deadweight. The perils of communicating with distractable hackers and all.)
