Just Loaded 9000 books on my K5
I always had an issue with the amount of books I had on my kindles (I have had every one, except the last 2). I bought the K5 because it had blue shade, because I didn't like the lower light on the paperwhite.
I don't use the kindle app (the book app on the Fire) for anything, because it doesn't work with Calibre. So, I got a 128 GB SD card, and loaded everything I hadn't read onto it. And I access books through Calibre Companion. I found you can get the covers much larger, and it makes it really easy to browse for another book. And you can search by tag or author or date. I plan to sort by date read, so the books I have started to read are at the top. I remember to set a book mark before I set the K5 down at night.
Rather than have to add books to collections, I just add them and the tags will sort them. Now I remember why I spent all that time getting my tags right!
Not only do I have all my books on my SD card (another backup, aside from 2 computers and dropbox), but the ability to search for the next book without having to go down and power up Calibre means those older books will have a chance!
Try Calibre Companion on your K5. It really works great!
