I go back and forth between the multiple libraries and the VL. Both have their pluses and negatives, but until i get the whole VL mastered, then I keep shuffling them around. Plus....this shuffling tends to end up with me having ruined libraries that need work.

@BetterRed, I didn't think about the view manager as being able to work with the VLs. But my bigger problem is now, if I want to use VL, standardizing all those books that have been morphed and changed metadata over the past few years.

Since no metadata ever stays the same I am tempted to just erase it all and start fresh (GHM if I do...) the idea of cleaning each book, individually is so daunting. I wish that I could "set" certain metadata so it cannot be changed or accidentally erased or lost in a merge or copy to library that I didn't have set up properly and thus lost data when columns are missing...I spend more time hunting for book add dates, read dates and sources.

@theducks....the whole moving libraries to new libraries is exactly what I have been doing. But the moving pf libraries is sooooooo time consuming.

It takes an average of 45 minutes to an hour to move just ONE of my libraries. This is why I have so many random libraries holding books with different stages of metadata completion. If I could just condense them into one library for cannibalization and one "current" library I would. But then they would be so large I couldn't navigate through them. Too many books makes slow navigation.

I feel like Sisyphus. On the bright side...I have reading material to last until the next decade.
