I think the fact that there were so many different types of stories: romantic suspense, small town romance, romantic comedy, international romance, etc. meant that many of the readers who subscribed to the various lines didn't like not being sure what they would be getting. Whereas I subscribed to the line for over 25 years and when it was SIM I loved it because of all the variety in settings and story types.

The SIM line was the best. Hands Down. The Blaze line use to be moderately sexy but in the past couple of years it's all pretty much erotic romance so I think this is a smart move for them. I'm surprised that their historical line is going digital only! American Romance is now Western Romance which narrows down the story content. They all weren't cowboys titles. I own quite a few with no cowboys from the American line.
I wonder if they will merge Intrigue with Romantic Suspense next?
