I'm only resurrecting a nearly 17 month dead thread to say this, but I guess since dreams don't become outdated it's okay.
This morning I awoke at around six thirty, which is a god-forbidden hour for any retiree to open their eyes. After piddling around for a couple of hours, went back to sleep for quick nap which turned into a two and a half hour slumber, during which I had the following dream. I was driving down Tidewater's Military Highway and the car in front of me (driven my an elderly woman) slowed to a crawl. I got out of the car, with it still moving at idle speed. Then I ran alongside it and jumped back in, just in time to avoid being hit by another driver speeding up on me. Drove on down the road, got distracted, missed my turn and wound up much further down Military than I had intended. By this time the car was no longer in the picture, and I was riding my old Harley Speedster, so I turned around and began heading to my original destination. It was starting to get dark and my headlight wasn't working. I couldn't see a thing and ended up on the median strip about to head back on the wrong side of the road. I slapped my headlight and it came on, allowing me to see, if only dimly. I got back on the right path but by the time I reached the waterfront strip in Virginia Beach (impossible if you stay on Military), I decided to visit a few of the sights I hadn't seen in a few years. It was still dark, and I had been gone for quite some time now and half-expected my wife to start worrying and call. Then the phone rang and I awoke. I thought it was her at first, but it was my son. I'm wondering now if that ringing might have been incorporated into my dream, but it seems such a separate event that I don't know whether to chalk it up to incorporation or coincidence.
