Have you ever noticed how fish apparently often is not considered a meat? I often read, and hear people say, things like "meat and fish," as though they're two different things. So, I guess some people who call themselves "vegetarians" and, yet still eat fish, look at it that way.

Gtrs, I know a little bit about this. The Latin word
carnis meant meat, including poultry, but it did not include seafood. When the Pope declared that Christians should not eat "carnis" on Fridays, seafood was not forbidden.
