@coase - If you only keep a few books on it - such as the ones you are, or will shortly be, reading, and maybe a few reference books then - maybe yes.

That's my scenario, I decided within a week of starting to use Calibre that its device integration facilities were beyond my needs. I like being able to use the same processes and technology for ebooks as I use for videos, music, spreadsheets, drawings etc. To move files between my PC and my Android tablet over WiFi I use the Cheetah Sync software. Works well for me.
