The only thing I can think of is syncing pages read. Its working fine this morning for books sent before the 14th but I haven't started reading the book sent on the 15th. I'm in the UK so I don't know if what you saw is specific to your country (assuming not the UK) as I didn't get a notice. Also I don’t actually use the Amazon Cloud, or at least I don't pay for it, so again not sure if it's something specific to anyone paying for Amazon's cloud service.
