The power transfer between the Oasis and case is via a proprietary connector with the 5 metal connectors you can see in the picture. That's confirmed by Amazon (I believe in the podcast that was talked about earlier) when they were saying it was a proprietary but they were open to licensing it to third parties with "interesting ideas" IIRC.

In answer to a different question, the magnets may hold the Oasis from dropping if you dangle it off the case (it's light), but it will depend a bit on the angles and if it drops open with weight etc (speaking from experience of a cracked MS Surface 3 that got way from me and left me holding just the keyboard when it flopped open )
