Now see before your time and even now if you don't have cable or satellite or streaming, you are stuck with the commercials on your local broadcast stations.
When I was a kid (and I am old enough to be your mother), if we were lucky enough to have cable, you got 12 stations. It was a wire running into the house.
Otherwise, you got 3 stations.
Now alas, even if you get away from TV commercials, you still get ads everywhere else.
Even on the Oasis unless you want to pay more.
