Hello Denise. I own both a Kindle and a Sony PRS-505, which are the two most popular readers in the USA. They are both great devices and either one of them would make an excellent investment. If you have a smart phone such as a blackberry, you can put reading software on it and get a start on reading electronic books while you investigate which reader you might purchase. Even though I have the two readers, I still read books on my Blackberry. I refer to it as "stealth reading" because I can slip in a chapter without anyone being aware that I'm looking at a book. They just think I'm anxious to keep up with my e-mail or text messages!
