I think I'm going to avoid this edition. I have a Baen edition with Heinlein's original ending and the modified ending. While I will admit that RAH had the right to write the story as he wanted, I first read the story when it was serialized in 1962-63. At the age I was then -- PoM was supposed to be a juvenile -- dealing with the death of a major character was not something I would have handled well. After all, to quote Oscar Wilde, “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what Fiction means.
