All of my e-ink readers have covers and two of the four e-ink readers that my kids use have covers; the other two only have protective silicone cases. They seem to prefer it that way. My middlest has two kindles, one with a cover and one with a case, and she never uses the one with the cover. My oldest would a back-only case as well, but there aren't any available for his now-discontinued Kindle and he does not (yet) want a new one.

I like being able to "close" my "book" when I'm stopping, rather than seeking a button to turn it off. I guess it's part of my "workflow" (if reading can have a workflow LOL) to return to the outside cover of whatever I'm reading and change my focus to something else.
