Thanks for this info,now i am 100% sure i won't be sticking with amazon. Their ereaders,the software and store are great don't get me wrong,but i heavily favour the eink technology and i wan't it to go much further than it currently has with these single function devices.

I have only tried one non amazon ereader which was from a spanish company and while it did not meet my expectations so much as a book reader it's added functionality is too hard to pass up.

The only non chinese ereader that can currently stay viable at the moment is kobo as Nook in the UK has pretty much closed up and won't release a new device.
