My question would be: Why not?

Apart from my smart-ass answer there are a few reasons. The simplest is that we bought one, used it for a while, and then bought a better one. That's the excuse I used.

Another reason is "gadget buying addiction". And there are a few people here who seem to not be able to decide on a device and just keep trying another.

And the people here are not the average reader. They are more likely to be interested in the technology than others. So, it's likely they will have more than one device.
