As far as I can tell, there's no way to turn of auto flipping.
But it will not change orientation (between Portrait and Landscape) as a tablet or smartphone does. It remains in Portrait or Landscape according to the 'Page' orientation Display Option. If you switch hands or roll over while you are horizontal, you may need to 're-orient' the device by pointing the desired 'top of screen' towards the sky/ceiling. Probably that will become automatic after a while.
If you read while hanging by your feet from the ceiling (in the manner of vampires), it will be a problem. Vampires may want to stick with the Voyage.
