@jason90: I'm not sure even the best device will last you 27+ years, but I'm glad if yours will. Batteries don't usually recharge that long ....

@robko: If you look at a video or two, it attaches so quickly that it looks more like docking a laptop at night, not putting it into a case. I like the video in this post- I can't speak the language, so I pay attention to the kindle itself. And it's a real close up.

I usually buy one case for a kindle, and it never ever comes out of it. I'm a heavy reader - 7+ hours on the weekend, at least 3 hours week nights. But as easily as this device unhooks, I can see leaving the case on the counter, and reading with the naked Oasis. I'll treat the case more like a dock than a case. That way I benefit from the light weight (I'm having hand problems and can benefit) but it will recharge every night from the case's battery. I'll only have to plug it in less frequently that my current Voyage. As Amazon estimates, "months". [ Hah ... since I read more than 30 minutes a day, I know that's not real. But it's a figure to compare with. ]
