I went through the same decision process and also ended up ordering the walnut due on June 7. I refuse to even consider the black cover.
Part of my gadget addiction is really a case addiction. All of my gadgets seem to acquire multiple cases. I don't know how I'm going to feel about having just one case for the Oasis. I wonder if there will even be any third party cases.
I also don't understand why the case can't be charged by itself. That would have been a very nice feature. It would also probably have made it possible for Amazon to sell me a second case for backup.
