The H2O has the Kobo ecosystem. Plus you can buy eBooks for it from any shop that sells ePub that use Adobe's Adept DRM. Also, you can use it with any library that supports Overdrive world wide. The Kindle is only useful with Overdrive in the US. The H2O has been out about 1 year 5 month now and it is a very nice device.
From what I've been reading before the Oasis came out, a lot of people would have loved a 6.8" screen on a Kindle.
