But seriously, it could be that they envision people removing the reader from the cover when reading (and putting the cover in a sunny place), so that the cover will charge while reading and that in turn will charge the reader once it's put back on.

That sounds plausible and something i'd be willing to do say once a week or so,if the solar panel does come out it's gonna be a pretty expensive cover,might cost half of what the kindle will
