Two titles in the excellent (IMO) Kate Henry baseball mystery series by Alison Gordon have recently dropped to $0.99 at Kindle US.

Night Game is the third title in the series.

Spring training takes a grim turn when sports journalist Kate Henry and a fellow reporter find a local freelancer, Lucy Cartwright, dead on the beach. And when one of the Toronto Titans, Domingo Avila, is arrested and charged with the murder, Kate is pulled into yet another police investigation.

Believing that Avila was framed, Kate sets out to prove his innocence. And with her police-detective boyfriend, Andy Munro, at home in Toronto, enlists the help of a local newspaper editor and a criminal defence attorney to expose the real killer.

Set in 1990’s Florida, Night Game is the third title in the Kate Henry mystery series.

Striking Out is the fourth title in the series. Per SYKM, this was a finalist for the 1996 Arthur Ellis Award for Best Novel.

With the boys of baseball out on strike, Kate Henry finds herself with time on her hands. Passing on the chance to sit in on contract negotiations in New York, Kate instead turns her attention to issues closer to home—helping her boyfriend, Andy Munro, recover from a shooting, and finding Maggie, a local homeless person now gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

When Maggie’s long-lost family suddenly turns up trying to find her, Kate questions their motives . . . and their possible involvement with the murder of a man who turns out to be Maggie’s husband.

Set in 1990’s Toronto, Striking Out is the fourth title in the Kate Henry mystery series.

The first title in this series, The Dead Pull Hitter (wonderful pun in the title ), has been at $0.99 for a very long time. I'm listing it here for convenience for those who might want to try it first.

For the first time in their history, the Toronto Titans are on a winning streak and headed for the World Series—a dream come true for sports reporter and baseball fan Kate Henry. But when a pair of murders hits the team at its very heart, Kate finds herself in the middle of the investigation.

Covering both the end-of-season excitement and the murders, Kate is drawn closer and closer to the killer—and to handsome Andy Munro, the police detective assigned to the case. And when some explosive evidence lands unexpectedly in her lap, Kate is given the key to solving the case.

Set in 1990’s Toronto, The Dead Pull Hitter is the first novel in the Kate Henry mystery series. It is followed by Safe at Home, Night Game, Striking Out, and Prairie Hardball.
